About the role
You'll build the agent scaffolding that lets NovaDDE reason over scientific problems — the tool interfaces, orchestration logic, and evaluation harnesses that connect frontier models to NovaAtom and lab workflows.
What you'll work on
- Designing and building NovaDDE's agent scaffolds and tool-calling infrastructure
- Building tool interfaces that connect NovaAtom and lab systems to agent workflows
- Creating evaluation harnesses to measure and improve agent performance on scientific tasks
What we're looking for
- Strong software engineering background, ideally with LLM or agent-systems experience
- Comfortable designing APIs and abstractions that other researchers build on
- Interest in scientific applications of AI, even without a biology background
